·         Use of the Redefinition Wizard is covered

·         Write programs to perform processing on Aspen InfoPlus.21 data using the Aspen InfoPlus.21 API. Although examples are in “C”, code is fully explained the code for non-“C” programmers

·         Configure Aspen SQLplus® queries to trigger from data changes and perform processing

·         Write client applications in VB.NET and ASP.NET that can remotely access data on the Aspen InfoPlus.21® server using ODBC links

Prerequisites

·         PME101 Aspen InfoPlus.21 Real Time Information Management Foundation Course (mandatory)

·         PME201 Aspen SQLplus for Aspen InfoPlus.21 Power Users (highly recommended)

·         Students who have some experience in a programming language will gain more benefit from some sections of the course

Day 1

·         Customized Record definition

-    Use Definition Editor Tool

-    Add fields, setting data types and presentation formats

-    Configure automatic field updates, e.g. update timestamps

-    Configure limit checking

-    Configure rate of change calculation

-    Include normal and history repeat areas in a custom record

Day 2

·         Customized Record definition (cont’d)

-    Configuring history repeat areas

-    Configure map records

-    Custom selector records

-    Using the Redefine Wizard to modify Definition records on the fly.

-    How select records work

-    Use of the Redefinition Wizard

-    Attach standard record processing e.g. boxcar, validation

-    Use “ghost selector pointing” for recipe records

·         Learn how to use Aspen SQLplus generic queries to process Aspen InfoPlus.21 activations.

·         Build a downtime application using generic queries.

Day 4

·         Configure Summary and Alarm processing in Aspen InfoPlus.21

·         Build a VB.NET application to retrieve data from Aspen InfoPlus.21 using ADO.NET

 

Day 5

·         Build a VB.NET application to retrieve data from Aspen InfoPlus.21 using Aspen Process Data

·         Build an ASP.NET web page that uses ADO.NET to retrieve values from Aspen InfoPlus.21

·         Build a Web service that can be used to write queries against Aspen InfoPlus.21
